Ann T Respects Nothing
There are many lands throughout Wyoming and South Dakota that have been held sacred by various First Nations peoples.
I’m often intrigued by sacred sites now converted to park lands with dual administrations. Compromises must be made. For instance, the famed ‘Devils Tower’ in northern Wyoming in partnering with the National Park Service had to allow rock climbing but limited the number of permits.
This got me thinking about the routes crossing through lands that are mostly now modernized. Turned into towns, railroad tracks, tourist sites and…reservations.
The title "Ann T Respects Nothing" can be seen on the cemetery cross (last image) as seen at the scene of the Wounded Knee Massacre Site, Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, South Dakota.
